Architecture on Hold — Marrakech

Feb 2026

In central Marrakesh and even more so on the outskirts of the city, construction is ongoing. Residential buildings, hotels, and large-scale developments are being built, many of which are currently standing empty.

Architecture on Hold focuses on these spaces in transition. The structures are physically present, yet their use is suspended. Facades, openings, and rooms exist, but they are waiting for completion, activation, or purpose.

The series is not a documentation of construction sites. Instead, it is an observation of a condition: architecture caught between intention and interruption, presence and absence, progress and pause.
